DAY + EVENING + WEEKEND  OUTFITS

OUTFIT #1

How to Wear It:
A striped dress is so versatile; the key is to keep the stripes small and close together. BUT if stripes aren’t your thing you could choose any solid color. Pair it with a denim jacket and accessories and you can’t go wrong.

How to Wear It All Year:
On warmer days leave the jacket at home or pair it with the denim shirt instead.

CLIFFS NOTES FOR THE DAY:

Mind:
You are what you settle for… -Janis Joplin

Body:
Eat clean to Stay lean. Cut packaged, processed and preserved foods for whole, organic and filling alternatives.

Skin:
Lower your toxin exposure by using products with clean and hydrating ingredients as much as you can. It will brighten your skin immediately and get rid of that dull, not so youthful look.

OUTFIT #4

How to Wear It:
This is great for running errands, lunching with friends or attending kids’ activities. Layer the black tee shirt and military jacket and pair it with the boyfriend jeans. Complete it with the scarf, festival hat, Allstars and accessories.

How to Wear It All Year:
For warmer weather lose the scarf and swap the jeans for jean shorts or a denim skirt. The jacket will still come in handy when temperatures drop at night.

CLIFFS NOTES FOR THE DAY:

Mind:
Those who wander are not always lost…

Body:
Eat Better. Not Less. When you eat clean, it’s a challenge to eat everything you need to because you’re so full! It’s a good problem to have. Better than feeling full of junk.

Skin:
A moisturizer that does its job properly hydrates the surface layer but also delivers deep into the skin.

OUTFIT #5

How to Wear It:
Perfect for any Spring/Summer daytime activity. Pairing the floral print scarf and striped tank is a phase one lesson in mixing prints; something that takes some getting used in the beginning. They look great paired with the chino shorts, metallic sandals, straw bag and accessories. These sunglasses are one of my favorite accessories!

How to Wear It All Year:
In cooler weather or at night add the denim jacket. Or flip the outfit completely and add the cardigan and swap the shorts for distressed denim jeans. I love the look of layering the striped tank, cardigan, scarf and accessories.

CLIFFS NOTES FOR THE DAY:

Mind:
You always have time for the things you put first…

Body:
Lemons are excellent liver detoxifiers. Maintaining a healthy liver is essential for the body to metabolize and burn fat.

Skin:
Drinking a cup of hot water and fresh lemon daily cuts down on the free radicals in your body and the effects leave your skin glowing.

OUTFIT #7

How to Wear It:
This lightweight kimono is a great Spring/Summer completer piece. Throw it on over a simple tee and cutoff denim shorts. For an instant boho look add mushroom colored suede booties, fringe crossbody bag and accessories.

How to Wear It All Year:
Instead of denim shorts, swap it for boyfriend jeans and you’re ready for cooler weather. The kimono also makes a great swimsuit cover up!

CLIFFS NOTES FOR THE DAY:

Mind:
People are going to judge you anyway. So forget everyone and be yourself…

Body:
Fat is your friend. Omega-fatty-acid-rich foods like wild salmon and walnuts are great for delaying the signs of aging.

Skin:
If you want better-looking skin, all creams, concealers, brighteners, bronzers and blushes in the world don’t compare to the power of SPF 30 and a great hat. Truth.

OUTFIT #9

How to Wear It:
Look and feel easy breezy in this outfit. Layer the cami and denim shirt with the maxi shirt for a hip and comfy look. Try tying the denim shirt in a knot at the waist to give the outfit more shape. The hat and accessories complete the look so don’t leave home without them.

How to Wear It All Year:
In warmer weather swap the boots for sandals and the cami and denim shirt combo for a white tee. Master the front tuck and call it a day. (Front tuck is when you only tuck in a little of your shirt in the front to still show the skirts waistband and your waist.)

CLIFFS NOTES FOR THE DAY:

Mind:
What is meant for you won’t pass you by…

Body:
Get the beachy look you can’t resist. Let you hair dry naturally, and then add in the amount of texture you want with a curing or flat iron.

Skin:
The importance of exfoliation cannot be overstated. Two times a week is a necessity to get rid of the dull cells and allow your moisturizers to properly do their job. If your skin looks creapy, you’ve waited too long. A simple scrub is great for at home (I use a mens product-don’t judge, it’s amazing!), but nothing beats a monthly glycolic peel or weekly Clairsonic use.

OUTFIT #10

How to Wear It:
Great for a day wedding, shower or luncheon. I love mixing shorts and blazers! Here I paired it with a weekender bag but you could swap that out for a simple camel clutch to compliment the wedges. Complete the outfit with a statement necklace and accessories.

How to Wear It All Year:
For cooler weather swap out the shorts and wedges for jeans and camel heels and keep everything else the same.

CLIFFS NOTES FOR THE DAY:

Mind:
Confidence is 10% hard work and 90% delusion… -Tina Fey

Body:
Drink half of your weight in ounces of water every day to regularly rid the body of excess toxins.

Skin:
You skin is your body’s largest organ. Take care of it; it’s the only one you’ll get.

OUTFIT #12

How to Wear It:
Ready for the farmers market, kids activities or lunch al fresco. Layer this cami and denim shirt and even tie the denim shirt at the waist if you want a more polished look. The hat, bag, sandals and accessories keep you equipt and protected. Ready for anything!

How to Wear It All Year:
In cooler weather swap the sandals for the mushroom boots and the denim shirt for the denim jacket. Pretty much the same look just a little warmer.

CLIFFS NOTES FOR THE DAY:

Mind:
Be someone’s sunshine when their sky’s are grey…

Body:
Study your body in a full length mirror at least one a month. Honest assessments are key; taking a long look at your naked body should actually be a confidence builder though, it’s not a bash session. Take notice of your good traits as well as the ones you’d like to change. Then, take immediate action to better what you see. Doing this monthly makes it easier to reset your habits when needed.

Skin:
Remove your makeup before bed no matter how late it is. I make sure to do this by keeping face wipes and a renewal mask next to my bed. I’m literally half asleep sometimes when I do it, but in the morning, it’s like looking at a different person in the mirror than when I don’t.

OUTFIT #14

How to Wear It:
One of my favorite pieces in the capsule. This skirt is everything! Wear it out with friends or casually. Pair it with the black tee and jacket. And finish it with cool accessories and, booties and fringe bag.

How to Wear It All Year:
For cooler weather swap the mushroom boots and fringe bag for black tights, black clutch and black lace up booties. The jacket, clutch, black booties and black tights are a foundation for lots of different outfits so play with them as much as you can.

CLIFFS NOTES FOR THE DAY:

Mind:
Having hope will give you courage…

Body:
Look great in skirts like this by adding some squats and lunges to your lunchtime routine. You can do these anywhere, just take a few minutes before or after your meal . Start with a few and build up. The results come fast and look great! Ask a co-worker to join you to keep it fun.

Skin:
Darken your eyeshadow when you go out at night, especially with an outfit like this. A little extra shadow, liner and mascara go a long way. When you enhance your eyes, keep your lips a neutral shade. Going with bold eyes and lips at the same time can make you look older almost instantly.

OUTFIT #18

How to Wear It:
The built-in movement and fullness of this dress is effortless and I love it! If it’s too full for you, belt it. The wedge sandals, accessories and straw bag make it a Spring/Summer go to for showers, luncheons, errands and nights out.

How to Wear It All Year:
By belting this dress and taking some of the fullness away, you can add a long cardigan, booties and tights to create an outfit for cooler weather.

CLIFFS NOTES FOR THE DAY:

Mind:
Say it with me… I will not stress myself out about things I can’t control or change… #balanceisking

Body:
Get in more fruits and vegetables every day with a green smoothie for breakfast. Blend 3 cups of greens, 2 cups liquid, and 1 cup fruit.

Skin:
Let thoughts of your skin at 50, 60, 70, and beyond inspire your dedication to taking care of your skin. Find brands you can trust.

OUTFIT #20

How to Wear It:
Pair the graphic tee with the black weekender skirt. Wear this to run errands, shop or to kids activities. The denim jacket, clutch and sandals make it even suitable for a day lunch, casual night at a friend’s house or to a concert or sporting event.

How to Wear It All Year:
Add tights and motorcycle boots to make this a wearable outfit in cooler weather.

CLIFFS NOTES FOR THE DAY:

Mind:
A full attitude adjustment is only a thought away.

Body:
For an instant mood booster, recall a happy memory. Go flip through your Facebook photos to be reminded of your fun times.

Skin:
Prone to razor burn? Have you considered waxing? To wax you need to grow out the area to a 1/4 inch so the wax has something to adhere to. If you do all your areas (underarm, bikini, lip, brows and legs) at once, you’ll be able to schedule regular appointments to freshen everything up at one time. Once you’ve gotten it done, wait a few days, and shave. Then your wax should last another 3-4 weeks before you need to either re-wax or shave again. The cycle depends on the person. Despite the pain, it really is worth it to not have to worry about it every other day. Or there’s always laser hair removal.

OUTFIT #21

How to Wear It:
This is a great off-the-water outfit to pack for a weekend getaway. It also works for an easy going Spring/Summer day. Layer the white cami and cardigan and pair it with the chino shorts. Add just enough accessories to still be polished and a hat and bag so you’re ready for anything the trip brings.

Skin:
Self-tanner can be a girl’s best friend or worst nightmare. Everyone loves bronzed skin, something about the sun just looks better on us. Don’t be afraid to try it. Just make sure you lotion rougher spots-especially feet, palms, ankles, toes and cuticles beforehand. It can get ugly if you don’t. Oh and keep it even, using a tinted product helps.

Don’t neglect your neck. Take your skin care products all the way down your neck and onto your chest. I tell my clients to take the products all the way down to the girls. The skin on your neck is thinner, therefore dehydrates faster. Keep it moist and protected and the difference in your 50’s will put a smile on your face.

Skin:
First skin care tip I ever learned; it changed me: Lip balms and moisturizers made with mineral oil or petrolatum don’t get absorbed; instead they create a barrier on the skin’s surface. This helps trap moisture in, but doesn’t hydrate skin that’s already thirsty. Instead, try a product with hyaluronic acid, ceramides, or even an oil, all of which penetrate skin to moisturize beyond the surface.

OUTFIT #69

How to Wear It:
Wear the striped shirt untucked with the boyfriend jeans and top it with the bold wool coat. Complete the outfit with dark textured flats, bag and accessories.

How to Wear It All Year:
In warmer weather skip the coat and swap the jeans for jean shorts or a black skirt.

CLIFFS NOTES FOR THE DAY:

Mind:
There is no force like that of a determined woman…

Body:
Eat vegetables and protein at every meal.

Skin:
Many ingredients in conditioner can cause clogged pores if it touches your face, so if you’re noticing breakouts around the hairline, sides of your face, or neck, your conditioner could very well be the culprit. Instead, switch up your showering routine and wash your face after you’ve rinsed out your conditioner to ensure it won’t soak into your skin.

OUTFIT #72

How to Wear It:
Front tuck the white tee into the printed shorts. Complete the casual look with light textured flats, fringe bag, denim jacket and everyday accessories.

How to Wear It All Year:
In cooler weather swap the flats with black tights and black lace up booties.

Body:
When you workout, you burn calories for the rest of the day, instead of stockpiling them when you don’t.

Skin:
Always swipe on mascara last. This allows a better eyeliner application; it’s easier to see the lash line when the eyelashes are bare. Plus, with the eyeliner in place, you’ll know just how much mascara you need.

Effort is attractive…

Body:
Broccoli might get stuck in your teeth, but french fries get stuck in you’re a**!

Skin:
Try to avoid washing your hair every day. Constant shampooing leaves hair dry and your scalp will create more oils to compensate for the loss of moisture. Instead, use a dry shampoo and style your hair into a braid or ponytail when it’s a little too shiny.

Tuck in the striped shirt to the bootcut jeans and belt it. Add the blazer, heels, bag and accessories for a quick polished outfit in a pinch!

Out with the old, in with the new. Gather all your personal care products and do an inventory. Decide what you use, what you don’t and what you can throw away. Only keep what you’re currently using, donate or trash the rest. From here be selective when you buy products. Keep things minimal. All you need is a skin care routine for face, body lotion and oil, shampoo, conditioner and body wash, sunscreen, body scrub, makeup, rosewater, essential oil mist, an exfoliator and a Clairsonic or a nice set of cotton washcloths.
