My number one recommendation for balanced holiday eating is to not eat too much of one thing. If you love turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberries, and then still have to save room for dessert then you should follow the half rule. I always get half the amount that I would usually get so that I have room to try a couple of desserts. The same goes with those desserts I will be the first to cut a piece of pie in half so I can try two kinds instead of just one.
